South Plainfield, NJ – Esther E. (Hitchings) Sivulich, passed away on her 85th birthday, July 10, 2017 at The Woodlands Care Center in Plainfield. Born in Luzerne, PA to her late parents Charles and Georgina (Tudgay) Hitchings, Esther grew up in Kingston, PA and settled to South Plainfield in 1956.
A devoted wife and mother, Esther enjoyed being a housewife spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan, having a love for the NY Mets. Esther enjoyed penny slot machines, word puzzles and attended The Church of the Sacred Heart for over fifty years.
Predeceased by six siblings, Esther leaves behind her loving husband of sixty-two years, Michael J. Sivulich and their children; Michael C. of Bedminster, Lynne Sivulich-Morella of Whitehouse Station and Charles of Hudson, FL. She also leaves behind her extended family, sisters-in-law Teddy Slavoski and her husband Bill of South Plainfield and Georgine Sivulich of Sugar Notch, PA and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5-8pm and on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 8:45 am until 9:15 am.
Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 9:15 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Esther’s name sent to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
