Lawrence Charles Schoenberger, Jr. 91, of Middlesex, died peacefully on December 17, 2022 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.  Born and raised in Irvington to the late Lawrence Sr. and Elsie Schoenberger (nee Smith), he resided in Irvington where he raised his family.

Larry's career spanned 44 years at Public Service Electric and Gas as lineman and supervisor in Essex and Hudson Counties.  While a member of St Paul the Apostle Church in Irvington, Larry devoted decades of service to the parish.

The Schoenbergers moved to Middlesex in 1992 where they became parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church.  Throughout the following years, Larry served as Eucharistic Minister, Usher and a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. 

Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished family time and attending his children's and grandchildren's activities. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed vintage car shows and attending concerts in the park.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gilda and his dear sister, Dolores Vollinger.  Surviving are his loving daughters,  Debra Borowicz, Nancy Schoenberger and Suzanne Moore, his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lauren, Julia Fackelman and Justin Moore as well as extended family and friends. 

A private burial will be held for immediate family on Wednesday, December 21st at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum in North Arlington. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
