Obituary of Antoinette Yaniero

Please share a memory of Antoinette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Born on October 12, 1923 in North Plainfield, NJ to Ursula and Anthony Deluccia, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt, Antoinette passed away January 17, 2023 at 99 years of age, surrounded by her family in the Middlesex home where she lived for 73 years, which she had shared with her predeceased husband John Yaniero for 69 years, the length of their marriage.

Antoinette was the youngest of six children, all predeceased her; Frank Deluccia, Louise Bottini, Lucy Frusco, Michael Deluccia, James Deluccia.  Antoinette worked as a seamstress in Plainfield NJ from an early age to support her widowed mother.  When World War II occurred and her brothers Michael and James went off to fight for their country, Antoinette went to work building airplanes as a Riveter.  We all remember them as Rosie the Riveter.

She met her future husband John Yaniero at work and they married in 1950. Antoinette had two children, Mary Lynn Palmer and Ron Yaniero and was the proud grandmother of Robert and Daniel Palmer.  Antoinette worked as banquet waitress for 30 years, first at Far Hills Inn and then at Watchung View Inn.  After retiring, she took on her favorite role as caregiver to her two grandchildren.  She loved spoiling them every day.

Antoinette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending plays and making a trip now and then with John to gamble--responsibly--in Atlantic City. There isn’t a Dunkin Donuts that she didn’t visit in the area.  She loved spending time there with her friends, enjoying coffee and conversation in her later years.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Lynn Palmer and her husband Peter Palmer of Middlesex, her son Ron Yaniero and his wife Diane Berry of Califon, NJ and Ocala, FL, her grandchildren Robert Palmer of Middlesex and Daniel Palmer of New York City.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.

Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and on Saturday, January 21, 2023 beginning 10am.

Funeral services will begin 10:30am in the funeral home on Saturday, January 21, 2023 followed by an 11:00am funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex.  Antoinette will be laid to rest beside her husband at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
