In 1988 I moved into my first home and my cousin Bill came to visit. He brought with him a gift from Aunt Marian and Uncle Bob. When I got home this gift of two plastic pink flamingos were sticking out of my front lawn! I jokingly called them hideous and as a way of returning their generosity, I sent them a flamingo planter for Christmas that year. Imagine my surprise when soon after I received a picture of Uncle Bob with the planter and holding a sign that said, "I don't get mad, I get even!" I also received a letter stating I had been enrolled in the "Flamingo of the Month Club" and refusal to accept membership was not an option! Well, every month thereafter for over a year I received the most dreadful flamingo knickknacks imaginable (I secretly loved them)! I finally cried 'Uncle", but it still didn't stop! He kept sending them until his supplier ran out! Uncle Bob sure could out due anyone in pranks and jokes. Will miss you Uncle Bob. Here's the first thing he sent, and I still use it!
