Obituary of Richard J. Niedermayer
Piscataway, NJ – Richard J. “Dick” Niedermayer, 75, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville with his loving wife at his side. Born in Newark to the late Morris and Sophie (Sabon) Niedermayer, Dick grew up in Green Brook, lived in Matawan for a short time and has been a resident of Piscataway for forty-nine years.
Dick worked as manager of five departments for LabCorp in Raritan, and as a Purchasing Manager for McShane Industries in East Brunswick. He also owned an antique advertising business for a number of years with his wife, Marlene and best friend Charlie. He was an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan and had a passion for collecting old tools. His favorite past times were bowling and spending vacations in Maderia Beach, FL.
Dick leaves behind his loving wife of almost fifty-three years, Marlene (Scheiderman) Niedermayer of Piscataway and his brother Robert Niedermayer and his wife Lian of IL.
Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm and on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 beginning 9:15am. Funeral services will be held 9:45am in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 followed by a 10:30 am funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex. At the request of the family, cremation will take place privately.
