Obituary of Walter Smith
South Plainfield – Walter Smith, 77, passed away Thursday morning, October 9, 2025 at The Woodlands.
Born in Elizabeth to the late John and Florence (Rosebrock) Smith, Walter has been a resident of South Plainfield since 1951.
He worked with his brother, Robert at Cascade Pools in Edison until their closing. Walter was a passionate history enthusiast, often spending his free time reading about historical events. He also enjoyed tinkering with model trains and tanks and was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants football team.
Predeceased by his parents; Walter is survived by his brother, Robert Brudnicki.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 at 10AM. Funeral services will begin at 11AM.
Burial will follow in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
