Obituary of Mary A. Rachunas

Mary A. Rachunas Carteret - Mary A. (Gavrish) Rachunas, 88, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Glen Lyon, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Rachunas settled in Carteret in 1953. A lontime member of Sacred Heart RC Church in Carteret, Mary was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Carteret Senior Citizens and several years ago, Mrs. Rachunas worked for Ohrbachs at Woodbridge Mall. She is pre-deceased by her husband Francis who died in 1980, a brother Joseph Gavrish, her sister Dorothy Gavrish and by 2 grandchildren; Maria and Joseph Gnudi. Surviving is her daughter Rosanna Gnudi and her husband Jooseph of South Plainfield, her brother Clem Gavrish of Pennsylvania and by her her granddaughter Joanna Cortina and her husband Christopher. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10:45 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, Carteret. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
