Obituary of George K. Stumm

George K. Stumm South Plainfield - George K. Stumm, 89, died on Monday, February 15, 2010 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Newark, George has resided in South Plainfield since 1951. For 35 years, Mr. Stumm worked for Citgo in Linden. He started in the maintenance division prior to becoming a Gauger. He retired in 1982. An avid fisherman, George was notorious for his jokes and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He took special pride in his 2 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Doris who died in 1985 and by his 2 sisters; Aimee Robinson and Hannah Haddow. Surviving are his daughter Carol Ann Haines, his 2 granddaughters and their husbands Tracy and Joe Posada and Diane and Timmy Hruska all of Piscataway, his 6 great grandchildren; Lizette, Johnny, Nikko, Gabriella, Hailee and Connor, his sister inlaw Gladys Scamorza of Jupiter, FL. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
