Obituary of Robert J. Wilkes

Robert J. Wilkes Colonia - Robert J. Wilkes died unexpectedly on Thursday October 29, 2009 at RWJUH in Rahway. Born in Wilkes - Barre PA., he resided in Nutley for a short time and then West Orange before settling to Colonia 20 years ago. Robert was a very smart man who had worked as a Mechanical Engineer and enjoyed being an inventor, as well as, working with his hands in many capacities. His skills and hobbies also included working with stained glass, spending his free time fishing, hunting and enjoying all sports both as a participant and spectator. Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by is wife, Joanna, his daughter, Lisa Marie Krystopik and her husband, Kenneth Louis Krystopik, Jr. His four siblings, Edward Wilkes, Helen Mauser, Stanley Wilkes, and Ann Marie Recchica and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in the chapel of Rosehill Crematory. Family and friend are invited to join the family on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, November 1, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Holy Redeemer Home Care, P.O.
