Thomas E. Peloquin
South Plainfield, NJ - Thomas E. Peloquin, 62, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with ALS, known to many as Lou Gehrig''s Disease.
Born in Hartford, CT, Tom has been a resident of South Plainfield since 1979.
After three years of service to his country during the Vietnam Era, Tom was honorably discharged as Sergeant from the United States Army in 1967. Most of his time was served in Germany, the place he grew to love and eventually returned to for a visit with his sons in March 2007.
He was a hard working and successful electrical contractor having owned his own business, T. E. Peloquin Electrical Contractor, for thirty-two years. As a true family man and friend, he was known to help anyone that he could with his electrical talents. Spending time at the beach with his family was something he cherished and looked forward to every summer.
Tom is predeceased by his father Marcel who died in 1988.
He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-four years Linda (Green) Peloquin, his children; Thomas E. Jr. of Apex, NC, Nicole Heasley and her husband Ryan of Davidson, NC and Matthew and his wife Stephanie of Highlands Ranch, CO. His only grandchild, Emma Heasley "Pop-Pop's little angel", will miss him dearly.
He also leaves behind his mother Isabelle (Blake) Peloquin of Orange City, FL, by his siblings; Nelson Peloquin (Marianne) of Easton, PA, Elizabeth Haver of Orange City, FL, Barbara Lingsch (Paul) of Glen Gardner, Robert Peloquin (Renee) of Northampton, PA and Jeanette Dean (Jon) of Milford, NJ, and by several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 beginning 10:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 11:00 AM service in the Church of the Holy Cross located in North Plainfield. Cremation will be held privately.
Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
