South Plainfield, NJ - Walter R. Bizer, 83, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2017 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit. Born in Elizabeth, N.J. to his late parents Erdman and Helen (Dalhausser) Bizer, he has lived in South Plainfield since the early 1970's.
He was a Sales Associate with Rickel Home Center in Union, retiring in 1990. Walter enjoyed spending time at the South Plainfield Senior Center and loved walking, especially around Spring Lake Park. He was a true family man, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. In his earlier years, he was the owner of Walt's Shell Service on Terrell Rd and East 3RD. Walter also loved bowling and belonged to the Rickel bowling league.
Before Walter passed away, the family has taken great comfort in how he came to accept Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior.
Walter leaves behind his loving and devoted family; children; Ronda Konik and husband Dan of Newton, Walter R. Bizer II and wife Rosa of Hiram, GA, Cheryl Bizer of Metuchen and Christian Bizer and wife Orfa of Spotswood, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Helen Wagner of Kenilworth and his former wife Charlotte Bryant of Lakewood.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 from 2-6 pm with a 5:30 pm religious service.
