Obituary of Geraldine Mary Duratz

Geraldine Mary Duratz, nee Thompson, 69, of Piscataway, passed away on December 4, 2016 at St. Peters University Medical Center in New Brunswick. Born in New York City to the late James and Eleanor Thompson, she was a longtime Bergen County resident, before settling in Piscataway in 1978. Gerry was an Accounting Supervisor for William Zinsser & Co of Somerset for 25 years before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, and most of all, the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Carmen Duratz, Jr. in 2006.
Surviving are her loving children, Donna Iachini and husband Gregory, and Jimmy Duratz and wife Tara, her cherished grandchildren, Brendan, Nadia, Avery, Gavin, Lula, Joaquin, Esme, and Cruz, her great-grandson Jayce, her dear sisters Elizabeth Smith and husband Ron, Janet Thompson, Eileen Sahagian and husband Dork, and many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8th 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway.
Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:30am Friday, December 9th at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Piscataway.
