Obituary of Marion Clare Smith

Piscataway Funeral Home Kent, OH - Marion Clare Smith, 91, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls. Born in Dunmore, PA to the late Louis and Lena Kotschessa, Marion resided in Newark before settling to Piscataway in 1960. She relocated to Kent, Ohio in 2006 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter. She worked for Western Electric in Union for 35 years and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Dunellen. She was also a volunteer with the American Pioneers. Predeceased by her husband who died in 1980, Dexter and seven siblings, Ernest, Robert and Louis Kotschessa, Emma Batzel, Lena Harnick and Marie Snyder; surviving are her daughter, Janet DeScala of Kent, OH; granddaughter, Kelly Wilson and husband Ronald of Stow, OH and her great grandson, Nathan Wilson and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 18, 2016 at a time to be announced in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by burial in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4PM & 6-8PM in the funeral home.
