Obituary of Andrew J. Shemansky

Middlesex, NJ - Andrew J. Shemansky, 57, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson at Somerset in Somerville. Born in Irvington to his late parents Andrew and Olga (Babich) Shemansky, upon marrying Karen (Celentano,) they lived in Somerset for twelve years, settling to Middlesex in 2000.
Andrew graduated from Brown University in 1981 with a BS in Biochemistry and later furthered his education with Rutgers University where he graduated with Honors in May 1994 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He formerly worked as a Director of Engineering for Conexant Systems, Inc. located in Red Bank.
A Rutgers Alumni, he was a proud football fan as well as an avid fan of the NY Mets. He enjoyed model trains, Broadway Shows, vacationing with his family and had a passion for educating children; most recently working as a preferred substitute teacher for the Bridgewater School District where he taught Science and Advanced Mathematics.
Predeceased by his parents, Andrew leaves behind his loving wife Karen and their daughter Stephanie both of Middlesex as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 1-5pm at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, September 25, 2016 beginning 2:00 pm at Wilson Memorial Union Church, 7 Valley Road, Watchung, NJ 07069.
Andrew was able to help those in need as an organ donor through the NJ Sharing Network.
