Piscataway, NJ - Matthew Margavitz, 31, passed away at home just short of his thirty-second birthday on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Born in Livingston, he has spent most of his life in Piscataway. A graduate of Piscataway High School. Matthew worked as a chef for The Rainforest Café in Menlo Park. Previously, he had worked at the Mendham Golf and Country Club and other restaurants.
Matthew enjoyed his time spent outdoors and down the shore at LBI. He also liked fishing with his father and exploring other food cultures. A fun loving and good natured person, Matthew had a great life and was loved by many.
He looked forward to having a family and a home with his girlfriend Marie. Matthew had the biggest heart, loved animals, and was a very affectionate and gentle soul who was close to all his family and friends.
Predeceased by his Aunt Teresa, Matthew leaves behind a very loving and supportive family. He was an extremely proud father to Chloe Margavitz and Matthew Farrales Margavitz. Matthew was a loving son to his mother, Mary Lieberman and step-father Paul of Piscataway and father, John Margavitz of Elizabeth. He was a cherished grandson to Joseph and Susan Dziadyk, a dear nephew to Joseph Dziadyk, Michael and Jane Dziadyk, Mark and Dawn Dziadyk, Josephine and Thomas Kennedy and Victoria Margavitz and an adored cousin to Christina, Sandra, Michael, Katie, Cody, Gabrielle, Teresa, Lisa, and Brian.
Matthew will be missed by all those that knew him especially his close friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4-8pm at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Piscataway on Saturday, June 24, 2017 for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial followed by a prayer service in the chapel of Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
