William Bori
Manahawkin - William Bori , 73, formerly of South Plainfield died on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at his home.
Born in South Plainfield, Bill has resided in the boro for most of his life before settling to Manahawkin nine years ago.
He began a career with the phone company as a lineman initially Bell Telephone. Bill was promoted to Manager later working for AT & T and before retirement, for Lucent Technologies.
Known locally to his neighbors as "The Mayor," Bill was often the one friends in his neighborhood could turn to keep an eye out or lend a hand. He was active with the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla #74 in Manahawkin and enjoyed spending time crabbing, fishing and boating.
Predeceased by his daughter, Danette McCoy, he is survived by his wife, Judith (Craig), his children, William and his wife Eileen, John and his wife, Gail, and Melissa Frink and her husband, Bill, His grandchildren, Kirk, McKenzie, William and Daniel. Also surviving are three sisters, Barbara Colucci, Patricia Lavecchia & Mary Ann Bori.
A memorial gathering and service celebrating Bill's life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 1-4 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Midland School, which serves children with developmental disabilities, C/O The Midland Foundation, P.O. Box 5026, North Branch, NJ 08876.
