Piscataway, NJ - Burton C. Clarke, Jr., passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, just two days shy of his 84th birthday at JFK Hospital in Edison. Born and raised in Plainfield, NJ, he has been a resident of Piscataway for the last twenty eight years.
He retired in 1995 from the Plainfield Board of Education where he worked for many years as a Supervisor of Maintenance. He loved trips to casinos, enjoyed reading and gardening and was a member of the Piscataway Senior Citizens.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted family; wife Ruth D. (Adams) Clarke whom joined hands in marriage in 1948, their children; Burton L. C. Clarke of San Francisco, Wayne J. Clarke and his wife Marlene of Pennsylvania, Vanessa Clarke-Dhanoolal and her husband Brendan of Alexandria Township, NJ, Ruth M. Roberts and her husband Randy of Florida, Celeste Williams and her husband Marvin of Pennsylvania and Portia White of North Brunswick, twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm with a 3:45 pm closing prayer service.
