Elsie M. Larsen
South Plainfield - Elsie M. (Nee Trevisan) Larsen, 89, died on Monday, February 27, 2012 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Alberta, Canada, Elsie grew up in Hoboken prior to settling to South Plainfield in 1957.
She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield and for many years Elsie was active with church's annual Feast of St. Anthony.
Mrs. Larsen loved her family and enjoyed traveling with her husband particularly camping and going on cruises.
She is predeceased by a grandson CPL. Michael E. Curtin who was killed in action while serving in Iraq in 2003 and by her brother in law Fil Burgess.
Surviving is her loving husband Edward K., two daughters; Karen Thompson and her husband Robert of Bridgewater and Joan Curtin and her husband Michael of Howell, her sister; Ann Burgess of South Plainfield, six grandchildren; Katherine, Daniel and Jennifer Curtin, Stephanie Volker and her husband Jason and Rob and Kasey Thompson. Also surviving is her great granddaughter; Kayla as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 11:00 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Cremation services will be held privately.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
