We have known Joan for more than 36 years; she was a dear friend, and great person to talk with in good times and bad. Joan and Anne loved reading and sharing with each other during their weekly conversations. We found this on the internet and believe Joan would love knowing what she meant to us. “What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you left us to be with the angles, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.” Although Joan went through some tough times with her cancer, she kept her spirits up. Joan showed us the meaning of courage during her fight with cancer. We were Very happy Joan was able to see her granddaughter Adrianna baptized; and receive a blessing during the ceremony. What a beautiful gift she received in conjunction with her family and friends being by her side. She will be truly missed! Forever in Our Hearts Love Always Paul & Anne

My sincere condolences to the family. I was saddened to learn of Joan's passing and her ordeal with cancer. Joan worked as an assistant in my Special Education class, and we enjoyed working together. She always had a smile on her face, compassion for the children and helped in every way possible. She spoke daily about her family (especially her joy at being Mom to Jeremy and Sharon) and I remember her excitement when she planned the first trip to Disney world. So sorry for your loss.

It's so hard for me to put into words what I admired about Joanie. She was the "real deal" and there are so many things that I will miss about her...she was best friend for 29 years. When I moved to Middlesex, I had no friends or family in this area, but she was right next door to help me out and so many times she did..no questions asked. My daughter and Sharon still remain good friends and my son always wanted to be "like Jeremy" :) It was a beautiful arrangement and even when we moved to another home in MX, Joanie was still there for me. I remember the 1st phone call when she told me about her breast cancer...I cried like a baby, but she said she would get through it and she did... never once did I ever hear her complain and even 11 years later when the 2nd round of cancer came, I just couldn't believe it because she had gone through enough, but she continued to tell me that "she was gonna be alright". I know that she fought long and hard for her life. She was absolutely glowing when she told me that she was able to see the birth of her grand daughter!! I was so happy for her!! She loved her family so much and I know that she held on as long as she could. I will miss our lengthy "girl talks", her positive attitude and her kindness. I am so very blessed to had her in my life and I will deeply miss her until the day I pass....I love Joanie Much love always, Doreen
