Obituary of John R. Bannon

John R. Bannon, 74, died on Thursday, March 14, 2019 after suffering a long illness, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Pennsylvania, John grew up in Newark and eventually settled to South Plainfield in 1974.  John supervised EFCO for 35 years.

John enjoyed spending time at home and family gatherings. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, hunting and fishing and playing softball and was involved with the Blessed Sacrament Drum and Bugle Corp.

Predeceased by three sisters; Barbara, Karen and Beverly, John is survived by his wife, Mary Carole Bannon; son, Shawn and his wife Vanessa of Leonardo; daughter, Tara Doyle and her husband Jason of Cranford; sister, Lynne Bannon of Cream Ridge; brother, Kevin Bannon of Brick and his three grandchildren, Sophia, Cora and Declan.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 beginning at 4pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 with funeral services to follow beginning at 7:30pm.

Cremation services will be private.
