Obituary of Olga Viola
Olga Viola, 99, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 30, 2019 at home with her family.
Olga was born in Morgan, PA. At age 3, Olga and her family moved to San Demetrio, Italy for several years. When she was sixteen, she and her family came back to America and initially resided in Pennsylvania before settling to South Plainfield where she and her husband Carl raised their family.
Olga was employed by the Middlesex Dress Company for 20 years where she retired. Olga had a passion for sewing, needlework, gardening and cooking. Every Sunday she madehomemade pasta and gravy with meatballs. She also enjoyed making pizza and lemon meringue pies to share with family and friends. Olga, a very caring and genuine person, made sure everyone around her felt loved.
Predeceased by her husband Carmelo Viola who died in 1998; two sons-in-law, Ned Morrison and Dave Henriksen and hersiblings; surviving are her son Carl Viola and wife Christine of Port Richey, FL, and daughters Mary Ann Morrison of Orlando, FL and Diane Viola of New Providence, NJ.
She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday, April 7, from 1-5PM at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080. We will gather on Monday, April 8, at 9AM at the funeral home. Immediately following, her funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 at 10AM.
Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 1734 Clinton Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org
