Obituary of Robert W. Ryan

Piscataway - Robert W. Ryan 77, died on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in the Haven at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Summit to the late Frank and Doris Ryan, Robert resided in the Gillette area before settling to Piscataway in 1979.  He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. 

Robert retired from the research department of Bell Laboratories of Murray Hill in 2000 as a MTS.

A lover of bluegrass and country music, Robert also enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and preforming magic tricks with playing cards.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Alice (Kalinowski) Ryan of Piscataway; son Kenneth Ryan of Piscataway and two sisters, Rita Glover and husband Steven and Elaine Ryan.  He will also be missed by a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 beginning at 4pm followed by a 7:30pm funeral service in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854.

Burial will be held privately at a later date.
