Age: 72 * Piscataway

Piscataway, NJ – Surrounded by her loving family and best-friend Arlene, Geraldine Peters, 72, born in Newark on October 6, 1946 to the late John H. and Lorraine (Wetzel) Peters, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 after a long illness of Pulmonary Fibrosis.  Raised in Hillside, Geraldine moved to Union where she lived for nineteen years prior to settling to Piscataway twenty-two years ago.

For over nineteen years, Geraldine worked as an office manager for Culligan Water.  She then went on to become an office supervisor with the Township of Irvington before retiring in 2009.  Geraldine loved to bowl, enjoyed trips to the casino and could always be found with rub-off lottery tickets.

For several years, she was active with St. Francis Episcopal Church in Dunellen where she a vestry member secretary, Altar Guild and Usher. 

Predeceased by her fiancé Eugene Richie, Jr., Geraldine leaves behind her loving and devoted family; sister Karen J. Williams of Piscataway, the Scolnick and Battagliotti families as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dear friend, Arlene Bunnell of Piscataway.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 4-8 pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 400 New Market Road, Dunellen, NJ 08812.  Funeral services will begin in church at 10:00 am on Monday, September 16, 2019 followed by burial at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.

In lieu of flowers, donations sent to St. Francis Episcopal Church would be appreciated.
