Obituary of Myrna Demegillo

Please share a memory of Myrna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Myrna J. Demegillo, 67, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Edison. Known as " Inday Myrna", she was born in Jaro, Iloilo City, Philippines on Dec. 15,1952 (but due to clerical error on her birth certificate it falls on Dec. 11, 1952). Her mother, Rosalina Jolorte, was a seamstress and her father is Amadeo Jimulgada a laborer. She was married at an early age to Elde I. Demegillo and had her first child at the age of 18, Jennifer and two years later she had another child, Jinalyn. In addition to her two daughters, Myrna had five grandchildren, three from her eldest daughter Jennifer and husband Paul: Paul Christian, Justin Emmanuel and April Therese and two from Jinalyn and her husband Barry: Mary Catherine and Ludwig. Day Myrna as she was fondly called, loved to cook for the family as a plain housewife but challenges came in her marriage life, the two were separated (but reunited in recent years) and Myrna entered the workforce as a beautician in order to support her two daughters. In order to surpass all the trials and hardships in life, Myrna relied on the power of prayer. For her it was the only way that she was able to overcome all the challenges she went thru. For she believed nothing is impossible with God and attended mass every morning at the Carmelite Monastery in the Philippines and later in New Jersey at Our Lady of Czestochowa in South Plainfield. Life is full of challenges but thru her perseverance and sacrifices along with the support of relatives, friends as well as her husband, Myrna she was able to send her two daughters to college, an accomplishment she was proud of. Both girls graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and the years passed, God indeed is good to her that the petition from her in laws came and relocating to the United States in New Jersey was her only way to improve her quality of life. In New Jersey she worked in two pharmaceutical companies (Private Formulation Inc. and G & W Laboratories) in the manufacturing area for several years prior to becoming a licensed Home Health Aid to take care her ailing mother in law. She was an active member of Rosary Society of Our Lady of Czestochowa. Life in the US is not easy where homesickness to her Nanay, who is now deceased, as well as to her children and grandchildren was a constant battle. Mama you will be forever missed by your two daughters and grandchildren. You may not be here with us physically but surely you are with us in spirit you and will forever be our guardian angel. Thank you so much for all your sacrifices and unconditional love for all of us. No words can explain how grateful we are having you as our mother dear. Til we meet again mama. We love you so much!.... Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 4-8pm in the South Plainfield James W. Conroy Funeral Home 2456 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Myrna will be laid to rest at Garden of Ascension Cemetery, Iloilo City, Philippines.
