Obituary of Allan Alvarez
Allan Alvarez, 42, died on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit.
Born in Plainfield, Allan grew up in Piscataway and was currently a resident of Rahway.
A 1996 graduate of Piscataway High School, Allan was a veteran U. S. Army. During his active duty service, he served overseas in Bosnia and also served a tour during Operation Desert Fox. In 2001, at the rank of SGT, Allan received his honorable discharge.
In 2006, Allan was hired by the Borough of Paramus as a Police Officer and was recently promoted to the Traffic Safety Unit.
Allan had a passion for life. He enjoyed the beach, hiking, camping, road trips and laughter he shared with everyone in his life. He loved the surroundings of people which held dearly to his heart.
Allan is predeceased by his father, Daniel Alvarez – Rodriguez; sister, Evelyn Hidalgo and brother, Daniel Alvarez.
Surviving are his mother, Leonilde Alvarez of Piscataway, his longtime love, Dipa Patel of Rahway; brothers, Giovanni Zamora and his wife Cande Arrieta of Stockton and Alexander Alvarez and his wife Vanessa of Nanuet, NY; three nieces and two nephews. Also surviving are countless extended loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 5-9pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2020 a 10:30am funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway.
Following mass, Allan will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
