Obituary of George Schneebacher
George H. Schneebacher passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville, NJ. He was born on July 4, 1954 to Alexander and Margaret (Damgen) Schneebacher. George was a gifted billiards player with a keen understanding of the craft. His talent allowed him to accurately calculate angles, perform skilled bank shots, and effortlessly run tables. His love and aptitude for billiards began at a young age. Even as a boy, he would take his pool cue and walk down Route 22 to play at Strike N Spare in Green Brook. He attended a variety of open championships as both a spectator and a tournament competitor.
He also had an eye for antiques, which allowed him to effectively determine the value and significance of heirloom pieces. He enjoyed history and trivia and had the skill of answering nearly every Jeopardy question correctly.
George, a loving father, is survived by his three daughters (Laura, Elayne, and Julie), three sons-in-law (William, Simon, and Peter), two granddaughters (Maya and Isabel) whom he adored, his devoted mother (Margaret), and three siblings (Susan, Alexander, and Karen). George is also survived by his former spouse (Doris) and longtime friend (Patti).
George touched the world with his sense of humor and will always be remembered as quick-witted, charismatic, and full of personality.
Visitation will be 5-7pm on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846. At the request of the family, burial at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union will be held privately.
