Obituary of Monico Piro
Monico Piro, 74 of South Plainfield, died on Saturday, January 30, 2021. The son of Josephine and Salvatore Piro, Mono was born in Manhatten, NYC, on February 19, 1946. He attended South Plainfield public schools, graduating from South Plainfield High School, 1964.
Mono graduated from Salem College in West Virginia. He was Director of the South Plainfield Recreation Department from 1971-1977. He was also a Physical Education teacher at Middlesex County VoTech for years.
Mono is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Annamarie (Stout), his beloved daughter, Samantha Cardino and her husband, Gabriel. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Piro and his wife Paula, three nephews, Peter, David, and Christopher Piro, sisters-in-law, Joan Piro and Ruth Zehr, and 2 nieces, Dawn Marker and Alicia Coons both of Florida. He is predeceased by his brother, Peter Piro and brother-in-law, Joe Stout.
Mono was a proud member of his college fraternity, Omega Phi Delta, an avid football fan, especially of the NY Giants, and a lifelong follower of the Beatles.
Services have been made private with a memorial celebration to be held at a future date.
