Obituary of Dorothy MacNeil

South Plainfield – Dorothy A. “Dot” MacNeil, 87, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Woodlands in Plainfield. 

A lifelong resident of South Plainfield, Dorothy was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield.   She loved spending time with her late sister, Antoinette DiCanto.  Dorothy worked for American Solenoid until her retirement in 2000.

Predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Mary (Caruso) DiCanto and sister, Antoinette; surviving are her son, Anthony MacNeil and wife, Carol of Piscataway along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2021 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church in South Plainfield at 10AM.

Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. 

Family and friends may gather in the funeral home on Friday, from 3-6PM.

During this ongoing pandemic, according to Executive Orders and the CDC guidelines, we kindly ask that face masks must be worn while visiting, to be mindful of physical distancing to the best of your ability, and are asking visitors to minimize time spent indoors to allow everyone a chance to pay their respects.
