Obituary of Mary E. Slover
South Plainfield – Mary E. Slover, 89, passed away Sunday Morning, March 21, 2021 in JFK Medical Center Haven Hospice, Edison.
Born and raised in Plainfield, Mary is a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s RC Church. In 1951, she settled to South Plainfield with her late husband, Joseph and they raised their four children.
Mary initially worked in the Morris Pharmacy then with her brother at Joseph Jewelers in Plainfield. She enjoyed reading and completing crossword puzzles. Mary will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, as well as the care taker to her family.
Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Slover; two children, Mary Jo Bishop and Michael Slover; two brothers, John and Daniel Eskesen and parents, John and Jeanne Eskesen.
Surviving are her two children, Jane DeRose and husband Joseph and Joseph Slover and wife Kathleen; sister, Catherine Pellerano and sister in law Janice Eskesen.
She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and great great grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 8:45AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by at 10AM Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s RC Church, Plainfield.
Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Family and friends may gather in McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 on Thursday March 25, 2021 from 4-8PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choosing in Mary’s memory.
