Obituary of Frank Hobler
Frank Hobler, 88, of Piscataway died at home, peacefully in his sleep, on Sunday April 11, 2021.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy after high school, where he served for 4 years on the USS Sigourney. After the service, Frank married and moved to Maywood, NJ before moving to Piscataway in 1971, where he spent the remaining 50 years of his life.
He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Exxon Research and Engineering in Florham Park before his retirement in 1995.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, tinkering around the house and investing in and following the stock market. Frank was a skilled woodworker, machinist, and handyman and his family is proud that he was able to create or fix just about anything.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Hermine (Steiner) and John Hobler, his wife Sarah in 2006, sisters, Elsie and Edna and brother, George.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Glossick and partner Ted Kanasink of Hampton; his son, Frank Hobler and wife Mary Ellen of Edison; his brother, William Hobler and wife Rosemary of Clifton and his grandchildren, Melissa McNally, Sarah Hobler, and Megan Hobler.
Visitation will be held on Saturday April 17, 2021, from 2 - 5 pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway, NJ 08854. A prayer service will begin at 4:30 pm followed by the rendering of Military Honors.
Cremation is private and Frank will be inurned with his wife Sarah at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery Mausoleum in Colonia at a later date.
