Obituary of Rupert E. Gillette
Rupert E. Gillette, 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his home in Piscataway, NJ.
Rupert was born and raised in Belize, Central America. Rupert came to the United States in 1967 where he first resided in Brooklyn, NY. He then relocated to Edison prior to settling in Piscataway, NJ in 1995.
A naturally talented and gifted artist, Rupert loved working with his hands. He enjoyed building and flying remote control helicopters, listening to music and spending time with his family.
For over thirty years Rupert worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in New York City, retiring in 2014. Following his retirement from Memorial Hospital, he briefly worked at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ before finally exiting the medical industry around 2015.
Rupert is survived by his wife Margaret and his daughters, Brynn Page and her husband Ronald of Riverside, NJ, Aridare Gillette and her boyfriend Kevin Armstrong of Charlotte, NC, Coreyon Gillette of Piscataway, NJ and Lakeisha Gillette of Jacksonville, FL.
Rupert is also survived by his siblings Delverine Massiah of Charlotte, NC, Marie Gillette of Charlotte, NC, Edmund Gillette Jr. and his wife Stella of Brooklyn, NY, Robert Gillette and his wife Lizana of Orlando, FL, Pauline Miller and her husband Anthony of Willingboro, NJ, Melinda Humphrey and her husband Stephen of Flanders, NJ and Roger Gillette and his wife Margaret of Willingboro, NJ. Rupert is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 beginning at 10am and followed by a 12:30pm funeral service at the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway, NJ.
