Obituary of Richard J. Stalling
Richard J. Stalling 92, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in the City of Hoboken, Richard resided in Ridgefield Park prior to settling to Edison in the mid 1960’s. He retired as a salesman for the Timesaver Coffee Company. He was an active member in the Clara Barton Seniors Club as well as the Social Club and AARP Chapter 3446.
Richard was drafted and served in the Armed Forces of the United States (Army Division). He was a member of the BQ CO 32nd Infantry Regiment and received 3 metals – Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Service Metal along with 3 bronze stars.
He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, playing cards with his friends, traveling with the seniors, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He loved singing, dancing, and telling jokes and making people laugh. He adored his, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed watching sports with them in addition to cheering them on at their baseball and football games. He was passionate about life and was loved by all.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Stalling, of 66 years; he is survived by his sister, Mabel C. Hoffmann and son, Nicolas Hoffmann; daughters, Deborah A. Stalling and Sandra M. Stalling; sons, Richard H. Stalling and his wife Betty Ann and Donald E. Stalling and his wife Caroline; six grandchildren, Edward J. Bachorik, Jr. and his wife Lydia, Joseph R. Bachorik and his wife Christine, Daniel J. Stalling and his wife Kelly, Thomas J. Stalling and his wife Dana, Courtney E. Bloomer and her husband Sean and Robert J. Stalling and his wife Jennifer; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 11:15 a.m. funeral service in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy, N.J.
