Obituary of Hermogenes Doropa Concepcion
Piscataway, NJ – Hermogenes Doropa Concepcion, 82, passed away at his residence on September 19, 2021. Known to many as “Jim,” he was born in Marilao, Bulacan, Philippines to the late Clemente and Emilia (Doropa) Concepcion, and has lived in Jersey City, Belleville, Schenectedy, NY and again in Jersey City prior to settling to Piscataway.
He worked as a Professional Engineer for CBS Television in New York and was the director of Facilities Design and Construction. Jim was the former president of the Garden State Filipino-American Association, Federation of Philippine Societies as well as the Filipino-American Association at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Piscataway. When he was not spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren, Jim could be found in his garden, traveling or outside jogging.
Predeceased by his brother, Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Celia (Abano) Concepcion, his children's families and his loving grandchildren: James, Christian, Michael and Sophia. He is also survived by two brothers, Clemente and Roger.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. On Saturday, September 25, 2021, family and friends may gather directly to Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Piscataway for a 10:30am Funeral Mass. Jim will be laid to rest at Resurrection Burial Park, also in Piscataway.
