Obituary of Francis Alparone, Jr.
South Plainfield – Francis “Frank” Alparone, Jr., 74, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Frank was born in Plainfield New Jersey to Josephine (Approvato) and Francis Alparone Sr. He grew up in Plainfield NJ and for short while lived in California and eventually moved back to New Jersey.
Frank served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, proudly serving our Country until his honorable discharge. Upon returning to NJ after serving in the military, he met his wife to be, Carol Mattei. The two married and lived in North Plainfield, where they raised their two children. After retirement, Frank and Carol resided in Toms River before settling into South Plainfield.
A career contractor, Frank enjoyed keeping his hands busy by completing model trains and airplanes. He also thoroughly loved to fish, play poker and take trips down to Atlantic City, but mostly loved being surrounded by his family and friends.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Alparone, their two children, Frank Alparone III and wife Jessica, his cherished two grandchildren Frankie and Santino; Christina Rothaug and husband Peter and two brothers, Albert Alparone and wife Dawn, their two daughters Kelli Mitchell and her husband Dave; Robin Curia and Robert Alparone and wife Nicolette and their six children, Robert and Emma Alparone; Louis and Amanda Alparone; Anthony and Nicole Alparone, Greg and Kimberly Alparone, Nicholas Alparone and Kevin and Sara Alparone. He will also be missed by countless cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 9:30AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, at 10:30AM.
Cremation will follow privately.
Family and friends may gather in the funeral home from 2-4PM and 7-9PM on Thursday.
