Obituary of Palmira M. Barros
Palmira M. Barros, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at home surrounded by her family
Born in Sao Paio da Vila, Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal to Rita Marques and Domingos DaSilva, Palmira immigrated to the United States in 1977 to Newark. She resided in Maplewood, before settling to Piscataway.
A Jeweler by trade, Palmira enjoyed crocheting and gardening and was a passionate soccer fan of SL Benfica. She most enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Antonio Barros of Piscataway; two daughters, Ana BarrosDias and husband Alex of Union and Sonia BarroPires and husband Ruben of Piscataway and three brothers, Domingos DaSilva, Luis DaSilva and Joao DaSilva.
She will also be missed dearly by her four children grandchildren whom she adored, Brandon Alexander BarrosDias, Kailey BarrosDias, Kayden Antonio Barros Pires and Briella Pires.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 9:30AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 501 New Market Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854 at 10:30AM.
Cremation will follow privately.
Palmira’s remains will be placed to rest in their family crypt in Portugal at a later date.
