Obituary of Frederick A Sapchin
Fred A. Sapchin, 82, of Piscataway, NJ, passed away on Friday Nov. 5th, 2021. He was born in New York City. Fred is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ardys Sapchin; his 4 children Lisa Holliday, Laurie Sapchin, Daniel Stearn, and Raymond Stearn; 4 grandchildren: Chris Cashman, Amanda Manasia, Porter Scott-Stearn, and Coreen Scott-Stearn; great-grandson, Zachary, and niece, Julianne Start.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings: Irene Prebich of Staten Island, NY and Peter Prebich of New Jersey.
Fred grew up on the lower east side of NYC and graduated from the School of Industrial Art (’56). Fred began working at the age of 19 on Wall St. He spent many years in the quality control division at American-National Can before working at the PNC Bank for over 16 years in Warren, NJ.
Fred was an avid golfer and retained of love for art, live theater, music and movies throughout his 82 years. Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to Kiawah Island with beloved in-laws, Greg and Edna Conkling. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. With a vast knowledge in many areas, Fred was a go-to source for worldly and local information.
Fred was a generous, loving man who was respected by many because of his willingness to give in any way he could. For years, Fred and his wife have attended the Christ United Methodist Church in Piscataway, NJ.
A viewing will take place at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd. in Piscataway, NJ on Saturday, November 13th, from 10am to 11:30am – with service to follow.
