Eric Edward Lewczak
July 15, 1958 – February 13, 2022
Eric E. Lewczak of South Plainfield, N.J. passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Eric is survived by his wife Rosemary Lewczak of South Plainfield, his step-daughter Shannon Mengak and her husband Luke of Stewartsville, NJ, his step-daughter Brittany Tekley and her husband Ramsey of Piscataway, NJ, his mother Carol Lewczak of Sarasota, FL, his father Edward Lewczak of Sarasota, FL, his brother Scott Lewczak and his wife Peggy of Nokesville, Va, his sister Lorin Lappino of Sarasota, FL, his two grandchildren Colin and Abigail Mengak and his many nieces and nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
Eric was born in Elizabeth, NJ and grew up in Colonia graduating High School there in 1976. He and his wife Rose moved to South Plainfield in 1992. He was employed part time by UPS for 30 years before retiring in 2006. Since 1984 he has owned and operated Lewczak’s Landscaping.
Eric was the most loving, caring, generous, person you’d ever want to meet. He would go out of his way to lend a helping hand to any family member, neighbor, or friend. He put others before himself and projected an illuminating compassionate light filled with love. He had the instinctive knack of repairing anything mechanical. He was an eclectic collector of memorabilia and loved buying “stuff” from Ebay! Everyone on the block new Eric as the waver. He waved to everyone even if he didn’t know them. He always said “be good to your neighbor and they’ll be good to you.”
“PaPa” known to his sweet grandchildren enjoyed spending time with them and played just as hard as they did! They were truly the light of his eyes. He took pride in his landscaping business and was committed to providing an unwavering dedication of service to his customers. He leaves behind family, friends, and neighbors who loved and adored him. Especially, his wife Rose. He will be truly missed by so many people.
Visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Funeral Home, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ on Monday February 21, 2022 from 1-3PM and 6-8PM.
A private family committal will be held at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
