Obituary of Kathleen M. Lamastro
South Plainfield – Kathleen “Kathy” Lamastro, 62, died, Sunday May 15, 2022 in JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Born in Plainfield, Kathy was raised in Piscataway Township, marrying her high school sweetheart 43 years ago, the late William Lasmastro. They settled to South Plainfield in 1992 and raised their family. She worked as a billing manager for New Jersey Urology in Hamilton, NJ for many years.
Kathy took great pride in her family and enjoyed being “Grammy” to her three grandchildren. She was proud of her son, an US Airman and looked forward trying new restaurants and shopping. Kathy had a vibrant life and brought sunshine to all those she encountered.
Predeceased by her husband, William Lamastro who died in May of last year; her parents, Joseph and Louise Casey and two brothers, Michael and Joseph Casey; surviving are her two children, Theresa Kuhn and husband Randy of South Plainfield and son, William Lamatro Jr. and wife Jordan stationed in Germany; sisters, Chris Casey, Maureen Santonastaso and Patty Brandt and husband Nick; brother, Francis Casey and sister in law, Cora Pawlowski and husband Bill.
She will also be missed by her three grandchildren, Isabella, Brayden, and Logan Kuhn.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 6-8PM.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10AM in the funeral home. Family and friends may begin gathering in the funeral home at 9:30AM. Entombment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
