Obituary of Valetta Della Sala
South Plainfield – Valetta Della Sala, 91, passed away Monday morning, June 13, 2022 in the New Jersey Eastern Star Home of Bridgewater.
Born in Orange to the late Ralph and Anna Padalino, Valetta settled to South Plainfield in 1957 where she raised her family. A long time communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church, she was also a member of the South Plainfield Senior Center and Red Hatters.
Valetta enjoyed life and all it had in store for her. She was a talented painter, loved spending her summers at the community pool and going to her favorite restaurants. Valetta also looked forward to taking trips to the Jersey Shore, cruise vacations and shopping with her friends and family. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband who passed away in 2003, John Della Sala, Sr.; her sister Eleanor Thom, and brother Paul Padalino, surviving are her brother Joseph Padalino, four children, John Della Sala, Jr. and wife Beth, Deborah Miller and husband Edward, Denise O’Connor and husband Joseph and Glenn Della Sala and wife Ann.
She will also be missed by her eleven grandchildren, Christina, Jennifer, Kimberly, Amy, Andrew, Shane, Cody, Dylan, Troy, Brittany and Nicholas; five great grandchildren, Michael, Malaki, Hailey, Paige, & Skylar and the sixth great grandchild expected in July.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10AM.
Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4-8PM.
