Obituary of Benjamin Michael Tanchyk

Benjamin Michael Tanchyk passed away at the age of 28 on June 29, 2022.

Formerly from Piscataway, NJ, Ben was currently a resident of Astoria, Queens.

Ben was a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Virgin School in Middlesex, NJ and Bishop Ahr High School in Edison, NJ. He was a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, New York, New York - in the School of Pastry and Baking Arts.  He was a talented pastry cook who loved his most recent position at the Nura Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY.

Benny enjoyed the outdoors, reading, baking, music, comedy and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

Benny was beloved by many. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Tanchyk and is survived by his loving family: his mother, Linda Jakubik-Tanchyk; his sisters, Lauren Tanchyk and Christine Tanchyk; his brother, Joseph James Tanchyk and sister-in-law, Jessica Stevenson.  Ben is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and great-cousins.

Our family’s world is a much darker place now but we will always remember his light as a kind and loving man whose quiet strength defined him. 

A Memorial Gathering for relatives and friends will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 6-9pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854
