Obituary of Mirla M. Bunales
Mirla Bunales, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.
Born to the late Pablo and Francisca Mejia in Tanza, Philippines, Mirla immigrated to America in 1990, residing in Dunellen, before ultimately settling in Piscataway in 1998.
Upon moving to the US, Mirla began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater, where she worked up until 2021.
Mirla appreciated her time spent at home. She could often be found tending to her plants, working in the garden, and spending time with her dogs Boo and Simba, who where her loving companions. She also enjoyed taking occasional trips to casinos.
Predeceased by her husband, Anthony Bunales, as well as seven siblings, Mirla leaves behind her three children, Rhoneil (Lanie) Bunales of Piscataway, Herbert (Edith) Bunales of Piscataway, and Lana (Joseph) Flores of California. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren, Krismae, Joshua, Inah, Kristian, Kaithlyn, Allison, Ethan and Hazel; one great-grandchild, Kaleah; brother Lamberto Mejia, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
Family and Friends are invited to gather at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854, on Thursday, July 28, 2022 and Friday, July 29, 2022 from 6 to 9 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 501 New Market Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854, at 10:30am.
Cremation services will be held at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ, following Mass.
In Lieu of flowers, the Bunales family has asked for donations to be made to Herbert Bunales in an effort to cover medical expenses.
The Family has also requested that guests attending services wear face coverings.
