Obituary of Barbara A. La Capria
Middlesex -- Barbara A. La Capria, 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at her home in Middlesex, NJ surrounded by family.
Born in Plainfield, NJ, Barbara’s family resided in Maryland, where she spent most of her childhood before settling in Bridgewater, NJ. Barbara and her husband Robert ultimately put down roots in Middlesex where they started their family.
A Teacher’s Aide, Barbara enjoyed working in Hazelwood Elementary School in Middlesex. She will be deeply missed by her work family, who have supported her through her fight with cancer.
Barbara relished her time on the beach, and could also often be found exercising, which was an important part of her life. She loved to host parties and entertain guests; her doors were always open to friends and family. Barbara was an active member in a book club made up of her friends from town.
Predeceased by her father, H. James Graff, Barbara leaves behind her husband, Robert La Capria; two daughters, Julia and Kathryn La Capria; mother, Carole Graff; sisters, Donna (Mark) Fetzko, Karen (David) Gaffney, Kathey (Robert) Piazzolla, and Jamie (Scott) Clifford. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law Phil (Debbie) La Capria brother-in-law Mike (Patrice) La Capria, her eleven nephews and two nieces along with a host of extended relatives and friends, and beloved dog Rue.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, from 4 pm to 8 pm.
A Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ at 10 am, family and friends may gather at the Funeral Home beginning at 8:30 am.
Inurnment will follow Mass in St Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, 551 NJ-28, Bridgewater Township.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Barbara’s Name.
