John has meant so much to our family, not the least of which has been as grandfather to our children. John was always ready with the video camera and loved making memories with us, Donna’s Mom, and our three sons. Our children were blessed to hear Papa John’s stories of his military career, firefighting, tennis, and love for baseball and gardening. They loved to hear him play so many instruments, including the harmonica and also the accordion (with Nana). John was very energetic, enthusiastic about everything, and had so much wisdom and real-life skills! Some of our most treasured memories certainly include John acting as sponsor at our son’s Confirmation, something John often spoke of and cherished as well, and John’s attendance at our son’s high school graduation in North Carolina. Certainly, one of the most memorable experiences together was when John participated in that infamous virtual coin toss at Craig's Commissioning Ceremony as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army in 2019. Mom, we will always be willing to swap stories of our Special Papa John!

We met John at my sister's house spending holidays with John and Linda playing the accordion. John was a sweet quiet man he had lots of stories to tell about his army days and being a fire fighter. He lived a full life. We are sorry for your loss to his family and his wife Linda. He is in God's hands now. Geanine and Robert Galletta

To the family may teaching and kindness always be on your tongue and in your mind. John always had a story, a teaching, a kind word and of course a "Song " and I will always remember him. So sorry for your loss to Linda and all other family members and friends. You each have many memories to treasure in the days ahead. May you find peace, comfort and joy in them now and always. One of my fondest memories is very recent - I had a half hour private concert with John playing his many harmonicas. What a joy to hold close to my heart.
