Obituary of Patricia Ryan

Edison, NJ – Patricia (Martin) Ryan, 94, passed away peacefully in the late hours of August 7, 2023 at AristaCare at Parkside located in Linden.  Born in Jersey City to the late Peter and Anna (Donahue) Martin, Pat has lived in South Plainfield and Washington Township prior to settling to Parkside.

Pat was an original employee with Chubb Insurance where she worked directly under Mr. Chubb as Vice President of Administration.  A devout catholic, Pat belonged to The Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield and then St. Rose of Lima RC Church in Oxford.

Very proud of her Irish Heritage, Pat travelled to Ireland several times but most recently went with her family at the age of 89.  She was a meticulous woman who had to have everything perfect and in order.  Pat was very creative and had a love for sewing and crafting.

Predeceased by her husband Edward in 2015, Pat leaves behind her loving nieces; Florence DeMatteo and Leigh Ann Insinga and the families of the late Florence Martin Sherow, Mary Ann Martin and Beatrice Clements, and the late Doris Pierce and the late Vincent Martin.

Visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 2pm until 4pm.  Family and friends are invited to gather directly to The Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield on Monday, August 14, 2023 for a 10:00am funeral mass.  Pat will be laid to rest beside her husband at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, also in South Plainfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pat’s name may be sent to any veteran organization/charity of your choice.
