Obituary of Carlos J. Cruz

Carlos J. Cruz, 60, died suddenly on Monday, September 4, 2023 at home.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Carlos immigrated to the United States when he was a teenager to Irvington, NJ.  He met the love of his life, Ivelisse and her young son, Erving while he was working for her grandmother; their love story welcomed three additional sons together, Carlos Jr,, Lionel and Miguel.

Carlos enjoyed body building and being the protector of his family.  He also had a passion for landscaping and hardscaping which he turned into a career.  Recently, Carlos and his beloved wife settled to their forever home in Warren County. 

Surviving are his wife whom Carlos spent forty years with, Ivelisse (Francis) Cruz; four sons, Erving Sanchez and wife Jaclyn, Carlos Cruz, Jr. and wife Kay, Leonel Cruz and wife Andrea and Miguel Cruz and wife Carmen.

He will also be missed by his five grandchildren.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4-8PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.  Funeral services will begin at 7:30PM.
