Obituary of Ruth Telatnik

Middlesex – Ruth Telatnik, 76, passed away on Friday, October, 13, 2023, at Robert Wood John University Medical Center – Somerset.

Born to the late John and Evelyn Lehman in Greenville, South Carolina, Ruth was a graduate of South Plainfield High School, and a longtime resident of Middlesex.

Through the years, Ruth held various positions with Chubb Insurance and Merrill Lynch, but most recently worked with the Arthur Murray Dance Center mainly in their Green Brook location, but would often travel to the different studios.

Outside of work, she enjoyed playing different computer games, crossword puzzles, and sometimes even gambling. Ruth was an avid bowler, bowling in a number of different leagues. She also enjoyed going on cruises, often times with a group of friends that would frequent different trips.

Above all else, Ruth enjoyed time with her family. It was summers spent in Wildwood or LBI, day trips to the beach or the Windmill, or days spent around the pool or at barbeques that meant to most to her. Times spent with family, especially her grandchildren, were always cherished.

Predeceased by her parents and sister, Jo Ann Lehman, and niece, Alicia Lehman. Ruth is survived by her husband Mike Telatnik; children, Kenneth (Celeste) Forsthoffer, Louis (Maureen) Forsthoffer, and Scott (Amanda) Forsthoffer; and grandchildren, Louis and Michael.

She will also be missed by her siblings, Dorothy Flieshman, John (Lynn) Lehman, Denise Lehman, and Steve Lehman; sister-in-law Cynthia (Bob) Bordin, as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral beginning at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Cremation Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the Telatnik family has asked that donations be made to the American Lung Association in Ruth’s name.
