Obituary of Carmen Lida Perez
Carmen Lida Perez, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Abington Care Center in Greenbrook, NJ.
Born and raised in Columbia, Lida moved to the United States in 1979 to be closer to family. Here she resided with her sister, in South Plainfield, before moving out on her own, and has been a long-time resident of the borough since.
Working in quality control for over 10 years at Metek in South Plainfield, Lida retired in 2006. She enjoyed her time outside of work reading, listening to music, and dancing.
Lida is survived by her sisters, Gloria Mejia, Ligia Perez, and Teresa Fuentes, and brothers Jose Perez and his wife Zoraida, Anthony Perez, and Luis Perez and his wife Carmen. She will also be missed by her 16 nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima, 501 New Market Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 10:30 AM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:15 AM.
Burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
