Obituary of Barbara Yunos

Piscataway, NJ – Barbara (Notaro) Yunos, 69, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Morristown Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of family.  Born in Livorno, Italy to the late Ralph and Yolanda (Rowland) Notaro, Barbara resided in Cranford and Westfield prior to settling in Piscataway in 1977.

Barbara enjoyed her time as a teacher for the Cranford Elementary School where she taught Special Education in reading and math.  After having her children, she devoted her time to being a housewife.  Barbara could always be found attending all the school functions and would never miss an opportunity to be a class mom or dance mom.  She loved taking photos, cooking and baking, and enjoyed musical theatre and Broadway.  An avid animal lover, she also was a fan of Hallmark and was very generous when it came to donating to local or needy charities.

Barbara leaves behind her loving husband Paul of over 47 years and their three children; Amy Zimmerman and her husband Joe of Pompton Plains, Paul Yunos Jr. of Branchburg and Michael Yunos of Piscataway.  Her two granddaughters; Ava Francesca and Bria Isabella Zimmerman, who referred to her as “Nonnie” will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 11am until 2pm for a memorial gathering celebrating Barbara’s life.  A concluding prayer service will be held beginning 1:30pm.
