Obituary of Dorothy Ann DeStefano
Dorothy DeStefano, 91, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Complete Care in Plainfield.
Born in Scranton, Dorothy lived in Connecticut before moving to New Jersey where she resided in several towns including Linden, Colonia, Cranford and Elizabeth prior to relocating to South Plainfield in 2002.
Dorothy was the former owner and operator of Five Points Liquors in Union during the 1980’s. In addition, Mrs. DeStefano was Past President of the St. Michaels School PTA in Cranford and also served as a Girl Scout leader for over 20 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Sal, a daughter Tina Marie, a son Johnny, a brother Louis Girifalco, sister-in-law Kate and a son in law Buzzy Anthony.
Surviving are her daughters, Angela Anthony of Edison and Laura Conrad and her husband Bill of South Plainfield; sons, Anthony DeStefano and his wife Regina of Lebanon and Jimi of Cranford; brother, Salvatore Girifalco and his wife Lynn of Maine; daughter in law, Francine DeStefano and nine grandchildren, Kevin, Peter, Keith, Brian, Tina, James, Jonathan, Damian and Shane. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Eric, Kenny, Lincoln, Charlotte, Weston, Hailey and Ada.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 8, 2023 in the South Plainfield Funeral Home 2456 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
