Obituary of Chon Thi Huynh

Chon Thi Huynh, 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at home, surrounded by her beloved children. 

Born in Binh Dinh, Vietnam, Chon immigrated to the United States in May of 1985 initially to Plainfield, New Jersey before settling into South Plainfield where she raised her four kids. 

A hard-working woman, Chon worked various jobs throughout her life to support her family.  She enjoyed cooking, especially traditional Vietnamese cuisine, going to the market, gardening, playing cards with her family, and traveling with her late husband, An. Above all, Chon loved to spend time with her four cherished grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, An Ngoc Duong, who passed away in January 2021 in Vietnam, Chon leaves behind her four children—Dung Huynh and his wife Loan Ho, Lynn Nguyen, Beau Nguyen, Phu Huynh and his wife Andria Park Huynh—her four grandchildren—Vivian Huynh, Victoria Huynh, Vanessa Huynh, and Beau Chad Nguyen—as well as her family in Vietnam.

Visitation will be held at the South Plainfield Funeral Home in South Plainfield on Tuesday, December 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Family and friends may gather back at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 20 at 9:30 a.m. before her burial at the Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
